Code named SquareSpy early on, this was our first project working with renowned board game designer and Magic: The Gathering creator Richard Garfield and Skaff Elias. There was no set precedent in which style to take this game in. All we knew was it was an autobattler, fantasy realm, the skies the limit. Wez - https://wezra.artstation.com/ our art director guided us towards a WW Steampunk aesthetic, which slowly evolved the game to where it is now. Most of these pieces were biome exploration for how the world was set in. These images helped kickstart discussions, and kept conversations going.
